I just remembered I have an old awning that used to be on the house, it's shoved behind the shed. That thing is made of 1" box aluminium and lots of it. I think I can make some nice deck framing out of that. Modification costs just went down :D . Sounds like bow mounted trolling motor money to me 8)
 
What a find! I wish I had access to that aluminum when I did mine. My mom's husband used to own an awning shop. I remember one year we went out to their scrap pile and got a bunch to make deer stands out of. That square tubing is some tuff stuff. Light too.
 
You reminded me that I have one post of the alum square. What I'm planning to use for my deck supports is alum storm door.
Right now I have two. I have about eight storm windows that I had been thinking of using, but the storm door shape is easy to deal with. Now if I could just find some alum panels.
