Pulling the engine tomorrow and first thing is to pull the steering controls.

Pics attached. Never pulled steering on any of the boats I've owned.

Any advice on starting point and tips to make it easy?

No binding etc., steering is free. Sold the engine and it's going to a new home.

Thanks

Remove the nut at lower left of pic 2, then separate the cable from the rod. Then remove the rod from the motor by removing the nut at the other end. Next unscrew the big cable nut in pic 1 and slide the steering cable out. If you're keeping that steering setup for the new motor then you're done with the steering. Of course you still have all the electrical, throttle and shift cables to go.

Thanks... that's what I was figuring but better safe than sorry. Once that's done, I've just got to open the cowling and remove fuel feed and disconnect the electrical. Remainder of controls stay put. Putting a 115 Etec on the boat.
