I was looking for a 1648 jon boat to put a mud motor on to fish shallow marshes and flats. I found (and bought) a 1982 Polar Kraft. The boat is 16' (says 15.11 on title). Now that I got it home, I am not sure what it is. Looking from above, the bow is flat, but looking from the front there is a slight v. The front half of the hull is basically a shallow v, and then the back half is totally flat. There are flotation pods welded on the stern.
I can't find anything on the Polar Kraft web site that looks like it.
I don't know if it is a mod v or a semi v, though I suspect it is a semi v. Considering that it has the flotation pods, can I expect this boat to draft shallow enough for the marsh and flats?
