What length shaft for 19" transom

Then why in the world would a transom height be 19" right in the middle. I guess ill go long shaft it seems closer

I would be inclined to get the longshaft, and add an inch of height to the transom by using wood or metal at the top. Ive seen this done on this site many times, and I have a friend who simply bolted on a 1" piece of wood at the top. I think a short shaft may not allow you enough wiggle room to get the cavitation plate and prop at the right angle and height, IMO.
