I bought this boat with trailer for 200 bucks. Motor was seized. I can't find a vin or boat make or model anywhere. Does anyone know what kind of boat this is and where I might find a vin or any other identification? It is about 17 feet. The motor on it was a merc 40. What would be the minimum maximum and ideal motor for this boat? I have a 65 i could throw on it but im worried its too much. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks!

On "SOME" boats, even the older boats before 1972, you could find the HID just inside the transom on the Port side. You might have to remove some paint or even some aftermarket Plywood.

Thanks I wish I knew what it was. It drives like a Cadillac. What size motor would you guys put on this?

The only motor I can find near me right now is a Johnson 25. I will be using boat for fishing and duck hunting. Do you think a 25 is enough for this boat?

As I recall, boats back then were measured along the hull, not front to back.

Don't know if Alumacraft made the Queen of the Waterways that big. I've seen the 15 ft.

And, my image of the Lonestar boats had a fin on the back gunwales.

If Alumacraft, the serial number is stamped into the back transom support.

Have fun, be safe.

Check this out wen you have time.

If its 17 ft wide and your transom is 5 ft wide you can use up to an 80 HP motor. I like your boat! Thats pretty cool!
