Hi all, I am looking for opinions on rustoleum self etching primer from those who have used it on bare aluminum. I would like to use on the exterior of my tin. Thanks in advance!

Works good. May come out cheaper buying a gallon of bear metal etching primer vs all the aerosol cans. I get mine at tractor supply

Thanks Mike. The spray just seemed easier, I think it will only take 4-5 cans for my hull $30 should do it. I just don't want it to flake off after a season.

I've found that if I double the number of cans that I think I need that I'll be close to getting the coverage I want.

:LOL2: sad but true.

Buy bulk and a HVLP gun and spray it. way cheaper and you'll need to put a finish coat on it next. Now you will have the gun to spray the top coat with!!
