Setting Up Trolling Motor

Ron I have both a bow mount and a transom mount minn kota, and they both say that the proper depth of the trolling motor is a 12 in minimum dept from the top of the motor to the surface of the water. I assume you were talking about how deep the motor should be in the water instead of the top of your boat

I always just barely put mine in the water because I'm mostly shallow fishing and I don't want to hit the skeg all the time.
Everyone else put theirs 12inches down??

On my G3 its like that, but on my pond hopper its just under the surface...for those really shallow spots.
