Anyone got pictures of your installation . I bought 2 Big Jon Big water downriggers both manuals with 2 foot booms one new other slightly used for $200.00 My boat is 2013 Polar Craft V1470 I was thinking on mounting them on transom corners but they are to small. I could have some 1/4 aluminum plate bent along with about 5 inch tig weld to make new corner caps to replace smaller factory ones what do you all think ?

Bump ............. I havn't made the move to install yet still hopeing for some pictures .

I've seena couple variations depending on teh boat.

Here's a guy that came up with a low buck swivel mount made of pipe fittings:

A bit unrefined, but pretty creative!

You could probably just substitute a longer piece of pipe and mount it to a seat box.

I fished Lake Michigan for 20 years, most of those mounts look pretty good that the links are to. I had our 4 foot cannon downriggers mounted on 2x10 pine boards on our LM boat, got a downrigger hung up on the bottom at Washington Island, Door County in Wis one time. That area is known for shear underwater rock cliffs, referred to by captains as Deaths Door. Ripped my downrigger and rod right off, deep six, tore the 2x10 in half. 200 lb test stainless cable and a 4 ft downrigger creates a lot of lever / fulcrum type stuff, (Archimedes, move the world). #1 lesson in that deal was never tighten the clutch / drag on the downrigger more than needed, of course some don't have clutches. #2 lesson, pay close attention.
