I picked up a 1542 Tracker Jon and want to put some swivel seats in it over the winter. What should I go with the clamp on kind or should I mount them somehow? I also see that the front and back are off center most times I guess to even the load. Right? Should I go low or high pedestals? Any recommendations and input is appreciated. I am handy but have never done anything like this before.

I have a 1542. Consider a slider type seat for you- to control or at least influence the balance of the boat, but you may need to add a wood bench to create an edge. You can see I use an old clamp-on for adult passengers too.

One piece of advice if you decide to go with the clamp on; MAKE SURE THEY ARE FASTENED to the bench with some type of bracket.

Here's what I used. No problems after 4 seasons.
