1/2" if its supported correctly

I will be using a lot of 2x2" square aluminum tubing for the floor support
which will safely and efficiently support the 1/2" ext. grade plywood.
Ensure the edges are supported also.

preservation methods of the plywood are covered in numerous other threads.

thanks..now i have to come up with a plan to make it removable the (casting deck) ideas???

This is what I will be using - - -
Stainless Steel oval head metal screws with finish washers.
available at most hardware stores.
Of course, if you take your decking out often, you may have
to relocate your screws now and then to keep them tight.
Also, use the 1/4" x 1.5" Stainless Carriage Bolt with lock nut in a 3/8" hole.
to make a flush mounted grab handle to pull out your deck if needed.

ok - not much room in a 1232 for sure !!
I had a 1032 and it scared me to death to stand up in it !! SOLD IT 3 days later.

Do you just want to put plywood across the two front bench seats for a platform ??
Something that small could be held securely in place with common Velcro Tape.
Make your reinforcement material (metal or wood) to the underside of the plywood deck
and not to the hull itself !! up-n-easy cheapsy-deezy.
with the Velcro, Just pull it out and store it somewhere out of the way.
no holes in your hull !! (a good point if you decide to sell it down the road)
Good luck in your build !!

and yes the two front bench seats...its only going to be me in the boat no else with the deck on it.

something like this ??
1/2" ply would be very okay. Screw and glue some 2x2" underneath so the ply
will sit flush on the bench seats, some Velcro Tape, some type of covering of
your choice, and you are good to go for less than $75.

go easy with the Velcro !! in large amounts, it is VERY aggressive !!!
just a piece of 1" x 4" in each corner will be very sufficient.
