Pedestal base question

I'm hoping to try to add a 7/8" pin style pedestal base to the deck of my Alumacraft MV 1756. They didn't start including the base as standard until the model year after mine. I cannot access the underside of the deck to check for bracing that may prevent the base from fitting. I'm thinking I could possibly put the base in the storage compartment lid just ahead of the latch.

I'm only going to have a stand up lean post with bike seat and will brace the under side of the compartment lid.

Any idea if the compartment hinge would be stressed too much with the seat on it?

If so, any other ideas for securing a base without access to the under side of the deck?
