I got a great deal on Jon boat last year, however it only has the riveted bottom in it tha worked well last year but I am worried about the years to come. which is better for the floor sections, plywood or aluminum? What thickness? Do I screw it directly to the beams in t bottom without anything to fill space?

You can use the pink or blue foam insulating panels to fill the space under the floor. Aluminum sheeting for the floor will last forever or use 3/8" or 1/2" plywood.

Another thought if you do install a floor, use wood first. This way as you use it and determine what works and what doesn't it's easily changed and cheaper to change then aluminum. When you finally settle on the "perfect" layout if you like the way the wood holds up use wood or switch to aluminum. Trust me you don't want to pay for aluminum only to tear it out later because it didn't turn out like you wanted
