Has anyone ever mounted a pedestal directly to the bench seats without reinforcement for a butt seat? I'm considering doing this but am having doubts it'll be strong enough. It's a 14 Lowe.

The bench in my jon would never support it without reinforcement, it is pretty flimsy. I would think yours isn't much better.

I have a Tracker 1648 with pin mounted seats on the bow deck and rear bench. Sometimes I'll double up my pedestal up front and use my standard seat as a sort of butt seat. It held me, but the aluminum had a lot of flex to it. Ended up running 2 lengths of 1" square tube under the deck from port to starboard tied into my seat base. Really help to make it solid. I've used my 12" pedestal on the rear bench on occasion and it seems OK. But if it were something that was going to get used a lot I would definitely reinforce it.
