I decided I hated having two battery boxes on each side, plus a third in the middle for when I run a 36v trolling motor. I decided to make an aluminum box out of .100 aluminum to store my batteries and serve as a front seat for my stick steering. Two group 24 batteries fit in easily longways, and a third drops in sideways for when I run 36v in the winter/early spring. Mounted my 24v battery charger on the back until late season, when I add the third battery, i'll just charge it with a portable. I designed the box to have a tray 2" over the batteries to add some storage for a life jacket/bouey/rope/etc.

MUCH more room, and much less clutter.
