Just got my first boat. Not sure how to use the live well. There are four holes in it. Two are on the side above water line. There is a pump in the stern below water line. Hoses are below deck, but appear to run from pump to a valve, which looks like a toilet type shutoff. I think there are two hoses from that to the well. Tried turning the pump on while in the water, and could hear it run, but it didn't fill. I have no clue what all the outlets do. I'm guessing I ought to take the pump apart and make sure the impeller is turning.

Pictures would help...

Make sure the valve is in the right position and turn the pump on. Pump at the stern is to fill it. Holes on top side of livewell are to drain it when using it. Should be hole near bottom to drain it completely which may not happen unless it is out of the water.

Couldn't get a good photo. Lowest hole has a hose that goes directly to a drain in stern. One of upper holes goes to pump in stern. Other two upper holes must be overflow. They follow hoses out to starboard above water line. Maybe one is intended for some type of re circulation?
