I'd recommend getting a new steering system. There not much more than just the replacement cable.

I have a Teleflex from 2000 that I was JUST able to clean up and lube. I doubt it had ever been maintained.
I'll be replacing it in a year or so.

Check your old cable carefully, as if there is a code number on there, typically the last 2 digits signify the length of the cable.
As long as you get a complete replacement helm kit you'll be OK.

It would ... but only IF the rotary helm part fit up under your helm area. Typically I've only seen rack systems installed on smaller dashes or helms that weren't too deep, fore to aft.mowarren said:
