Anybody got any experience with Spectrum aluminum boats? Are they welded or riveted? How thick are the hulls?

I figured somebody here would have experience with them.

I found a fixer upper and am curious if they are worth the trouble.

Thanks.

If you want a boat, and like to tinker to make something exclusively unique for yourself, then of course it's worth the "trouble".

What do YOU want?

CMOS

I want a fishing boat around 16' - 18'. I usually fish with a total of 2 maybe 3 people in the boat.

I like to fish for bass/crappie/catfish in smaller lakes/reservoirs.

Speed isn't all that important - I just want to have plenty of storage and a front casting deck/trolling motor area.

I had a 16' RayCraft fiberglass boat a few years ago and there was a lot of wasted space in front of/around the console that should have been decked off with storage below. It was a pain to walk around all the "stuff" in the boat.

I don't weld, but am fairly confident I could rivet up some angle aluminum and create carpeted decking.

I am working on getting some better pictures - may be a day or so.

Thanks for all the replies.
