I was wondering if anyone had any success painting over bed liner?
The previous owner painted the inside of my hull with a black roll-on bed liner. This makes the boat very uncomfortable on hot sunny days.
I would rather use the boat right now than start a restoration. I was wondering if anyone has tried painting over bed liner. I don't expect it to last forever, I would just like to make it to fall without it peeling and flaking off. I plan on stripping the entire boat in the fall.
I appreciate any help.

I would just live with it until the fall. No sense of wasting money and time with paint, when you are going to strip it this fall anyways. If its flaking now, the new paint wont hold very well. Fall isn't really that far off. If you really want to do it though, just buy some cheap spray paint for a quick fix. If it was me, I leave it alone till this fall.

I think the major consensus here will be to - - -
not paint "over" it, but paint where "it used to be".

But, for temporary relief, put something in your standing areas,
piece of old carpet, paint with some cheap white latex house paint
you can find at the Big Box Stores . . . may not be white, but a custom mixed
color that is very light often found on the Clearance Table....
will last until winter. easy to remove with the paint remover that you
will use to slowly eat away at the bed liner.
