I am lucky to have a square back canoe with a 3hp Johnson and I am not too familiar with the type of mount you need. Let me see what you

come with.

Look at some of these. Might help. Good luck.

I, too, have a square stern (Golden Hawk) 13ft canoe with 3 hp Evinrude or Johnson 29lb outboards on it (I'm a junkie for the old 3s), and love it. My boat has more of a balcony stern than a chopped-off one.

In an earlier time, I made a side-mount for a conventional, symmetrical canoe, and in spite of my best efforts, it canted heavily to one side, even when I tried a trolling motor and the VERY heavy battery.

But I was in the craft by myself, or with one of the dogs, so if you have a paddling partner, it might be different for you.

Best wishes.

I got this one about 2 months ago for my Old Town 146k. I've had it on the water 4 or 5 times and I've been really happy with it. Heavy gauge, solid mount.

I also got the extension (#5054) for when I fish solo (bow facing aft), because the standard width of the 5053 didn't fit the gunnels when mounted that way.

Look to the right of the jon..I use an outrigger made from 4" pvc sewer pipe. I think you can see the Grumman mount for my f2.5.
I had to change out the wood for something much higher off the water. Since the motor is on the side it can run very shallow and is easy to clear weeds.
