The Nautolex 88 adhesive is very good for securing vinyl to wood and aluminum. It takes a long time to dry, but once set up, is very secure.
Not sure if you can find it locally, best bet is that you may be able to find it at a Marina or boating store. Bass Pro carries it online. I originally bought mine from Defender.com:
