wow - I like that idea !!
I am thinking that most V hulls are different in the sides.
So with that in mind, make a prototype out of cardboard
to fit your boat. Take into consideration any electronics you
may want to mount on the top of the console. (thus it would have a level top).
Get some 1/8" or .080" aluminum plate, cut out
the pieces with jig saw and circular saw (with metal blades) then
either take it to a welder and have them weld it together for you
- or - use 1" aluminum angle on the inside and pop rivet the
pieces together. One of the pieces would have screws vs rivets
to allow access to the inside. (or not - your choice)........
Also, the custom bracket to mount the controls to.
I am thinking that if you make it yourself, you will save a ton of $$$$.
highly recommended to get all your steering controls on hand first,
so that you will know just how big or small your console must be
in order for you to comfortably and safely control your boat.
Edit: If you have some woodworking skills, you could fabricate the console
out of 1/2"-3/4" plywood and fiberglass it when done . . .
Also allowing for a removable panel for access to the inside.
Once it is fiberglassed, it will be waterproof and very sturdy. (just a thought).
Then sand down smooth, prime and paint it - wa-la - done
.
