I am redecking a Monark bass type boat. When I removed the carpeted wood deck there was a 5" round access screw cover. I am locating the batteries to under the deck which will move the floatation foam to the area where the panel was. I am considering moving the panel to the aluminum portion of the bow to give me a place to access the DF/FF connections. Is there any reason I shouldn't do this?

Just me, but I'd just add a new access panel where you want it. Removing it means you have to fill in the gap with something??? You can never have too many access panels in a boat IMHO.
