I have decided to put a flat floor in my john boat. It is a G3 1544, I have been looking at aluminum for the floor and was wondering what thickness would be good. I am planning on putting foam board under it and covering it with some type of flooring but not carpet.

Would .035" work or should I go with heavier .063"?

The boat itself is built with .064"

Thanks for your help.

Do a search and there's plenty of reading about this. I personally used 1/16" diamond plate aluminum with foam board under and have no problems.
