How long is your hatch for your rod locker?

For those of you that have built rod lockers into your builds, how long did you make your hatch door? I'm trying to figure out my framing layout and need to know how long you guys make your hatch doors? I should be able to fit 8' rods in it when I'm done. I'm thinking somewhere in the 36"-42" range.

I'd have to measure for sure but the one Fishon did for me for my 8'3" rod box was 52" or 54". I went with his recommendation.
