I've finally got around to working on my rich line speedster. I have a few restoration questions.
1) what is the best way to remove the old paint? it's very flaky and rough.
2) what wood do you recommend for replacing the transom? I would like to dress it up a bit and i heard White Oak is a good choice.
3) where is a good place to find a steering wheel, and the top deck handle is broken. it was a white metal and i would like to kind of stay with that.
Thanks for any and all help!!

Can you post pictures of your boat?
You can use a liquid paint stripper, sand it off or use a stainless steel wire brush on a drill or angle grinder.
Exterior grade plywood is the best choice for a transom.

this is where i have gotten some parts from in the past. ebay is a good place to get a steering wheel.
