I am thinking about getting rid of my wood floors in my jon and switching to aluminum. I am thinking that .05 5052 aluminum should suffice, but I wanted to check to see what gauge you guys have used.

My AlumaCraft MV 1648 NCS came with .075 that's what it measures with my micrometer factory says it is .080

Plenty of supports and as thick as you can go with in reason. You don't want it oil canning.

I wouldn't go less than 0.090. I used 0.100 diamond floor plate on mine, with joist spacing about 12".

Our flat bottom jet builders around here in southern Missouri use perforated aluminum. I will not have a boat without it. It can be 100 outside and u can walk on it bare footed, it doesn't get hot. Not sure what gauge it is. Best thing you can put in a flat bottom in my opinion.
