Many of you know that I am a retired sign maker.
About 20 years ago, I went to a Signmakers Trade Show
in Orlando and saw this metal company assembling metal
sign cabinets withOUT welding, rivets or screws . . . . They had my full attention.
As during that time, I was making metal box signs for the Navy Base
in my area and the Government Specs called for "drilled and recessed"
metal screws with Bondo filling the void to make a "perfect box look".
VERY tedious and time consuming - to say the least.
With a government contract, you get paid for the product - not by the hour.

Back to the sign show - - - - the company assembling the sign frames
was LORD ADHESIVES. It is a two-part epoxy system. Two separate
tubes in a special gun with the special mixing nozzle . . . I bought the kit.
The initial kit is a bit pricey - but well worth it if it eliminates mechanical
fasteners and drilling holes completely.
I highly endorse this product. (I have NO affiliation with this company).
There have been several questions asked here about "how to seal aluminum joints"
when making waterproof cabinets, live wells, etc., this may be your answer.
I am not trying to sell the product - just sharing the education.
Do your own research.
Google up LORD ADHESIVES and read the pros and cons. YouTube as many videos.
One thing that I promote is that Lord sticks to BARE ALUMINUM and
3M-5200 must be PRIMED and PAINTED prior to use on bare aluminum.
Not just for aluminum: special formulas for plastics, wood, steel, acrylics, etc.

you are not gluing up the whole boat - only brackets to hold
other panels and parts in place. But, there is a section in one
of their videos where a boat top is actually glued to the hull.
I have used this product on numerous projects and highly
recommend it for what it was intended for.

If you have any specific concerns for a project you are working on,
look at the many videos on YouTube and you may find your solution
there or contact the company's technical customer service directly.
