Do'es anyone have any suggestions to restore a mid '50s steering wheel. Bakite? plastic? over steel. Two cracks with a small gaps where the two spokes meet the rim. Next question is what works for color on a wheel. The original white is worn off in places, black underneath. Vintage looking steering wheels are to find without chips and cracks.

This is a car steering wheel but thought the video was informative. Car Craft mentioned a shop that specialized in steering wheel repair but it was years ago and I couldn't find it.

Thanks. Tried it on one I figured was beyond salvage just to make the 1st time mistakes. No problem, very easy. The keeper is about done now, just final prep for paint. This is valuable info. Of course do'nt yet know how it will hold up to temp changes, but it doe's take some serious 'pull" without a crack at the seams.
