LOL Kis - I just sold my house and am in the process
of packing up and looking for a new home . . . .
I want to finish my Crestliner first - then, somewhere
down the line, do the Lone Star.
The serial number is 93410079. That should lead to the style.
First, I will get a few bottles of MAPP gas to burn out
all that icky FLEX SEAL crap and WINDOW FOAM.
Like any project - small bites.
Not really a restoration project, just make it look nice to
run around in. Pleasure boat, not designed for fishing.
Like Pappy said, get a case of Brillo Pads and have at it.
I have a 100 pound sandblasting pot that will also shoot soda.
So it might be soda blasted first just to see the effects. (never did it before).
One thought is to make it a double cockpit with the windshield.
sort of like the "Poor Mans Admiral" design.

This will probably be my last boat

Gotta love those tail fins!
The boat kind of reminds me of my 16' model K Alumacraft when I first got it.
Screws everywhere and a bunch of redneck engineering. Very cool design and should be a
good performer with that bottom on it.
Lesa said you came by yesterday and I knew right away what you were pulling.

Hey, I'm new to the forum, but I'm currently in the throes of restoring a 1962 Lone Star Malibu, which is what I think you've got here. Everything I've been able to find on serial numbers over at the Lone Star Boat Club Yahoo Group (apparently those still exist) would point to you having a 1959 Malibu.

The leading digit is supposedly the last digit of the year, hence a 9 indicates 1959 since the Malibu was only in production from 1958 to 1963. The 341 is common to Malibues (How exactly does one write the plural of Malibu?), but I wasn't able to find anything on documentation on exactly what those numbers represented. The remaining digits are the production number for the boat, hence 0079 means your Malibu was the 79th Malibu built in 1959.

Good Luck with your project; look forward to seeing your progress.
