have new tires/wheels, LED lights and winch after Paint for it

started sealing the cracks in the transom today with resin and glass mat... the transom is solid, the PO caulked it yearly..... I stripped it and am doing glass.... also got primer on the trailer and the old lights ripped off.. My goal is to have this in the water Monday the 27th....

Ordered some Interlux Turquoise paint and some more fiberglass resin. Pulled the old fish finder off and gave it to the guy who bought the Ouachita since I also ordered a new Humminbird Helix 5 with GPS. I also picked up some LED truck bed lights to rig up under the rails. Waiting for my 5200 to show up too so I can seal the old transducer mount holes. on the trailer end I have two new Tires and wheels, all new LED lighting too. got it primed and one coat of paint on that. this saturday and sunday after night shift will be when I get the majority of the work done. still looking at having it ready for Monday. Next Wednesday I am off for 5 days and hope to use it every day.

I know its not Tin, but I really am a tin guy at heart, just got a steal on this one. figure if I find a tin 16' console steer in good shape without a motor for a good price..... maybe swap the motor to that....

Oh boy, somebody call the 1950's........they lost the paint off their Impala. :LOL2: Seriously , it looks to be in damned good shape. Somebody must have kept it covered and out of the weather. Looking at the switch hanging down under the left side of the wheel. You might want to relocate that dude someplace else. It looks like it could be sheared off or skin up your knee repeatedly, from the picture anyways.

Oh, when you do those tail lights on trailer do yourself a favor. Just junk the whole harness and replace. Your future you will thank you. String it on the outside too where you can easily drop it to clean up that rust and hit that rusty frame with some POR 15. It's worth the cash for trailers rusty like that because you will never be able to get all that rust off period.

I bought 4 new matching switches to run the lighting and that one was for the Bilge Pump just need to drill the holes and install, I bought a complete new LED Light kit, and I did use POR 15 as well (Great Minds must think alike LOL) and yeah thats quite the color but the condition of the boat can make me live with it for now...

got it done sice the last post. Like I said the original idea was to gain the space we needed and a good console steer outboard for a tin boat down the road while being able to use this in the mean time but I'm happy with how this came out I may just keep it for our boat for the forseeable future....

Finished product as of today:

Transom is solid but there were cracks on the cap... PO caulked them every year... I did a quick fiberglass job.. Yeah I know that isn't a good paint match but it'll do

the original seats were faded but in good shape although the drivers seat was broken. I vinyl Dyed the front bench and pad, did nothing to the middle swivel seats other than add the lund decals, and replaced the drivers seat with one from my old tin i saved.

I stripped and painted the trailer, all new LED wiring, new Bearings, New Tires and Wheels as well. this was a fun project now to FISH!

just brought it out for 3 hours.... Motor is a little cold blooded Im guessing old fuel so some seafoam and plugs is on the list and a fresh tank..... battery dips quick so that too... on a plus note I noticed when the engine ran the volts went up so it must have a charging system.... no leaks. does 23 with me and the boy plenty fast for this IMO
