Hey guys since I've converted my short shaft transom to long. I've questioned the need to replace or add extra bracing. I'm really wondering if the center hull brace needs to be bigger/ more tall to support more of the transom. I could have a shop fab one that's better suited for the job. I'll be using a 73 Johnson 50hp if that helps. Its one heavy beast that's only picked up by an engine hoist. Any suggestions/ advice are appreciated. Thanks!

I've added aluminum square tube thus far not finish bolting it yet tho...

You could use 2 pieces of aluminum angle bolted to the original knee brace.

Sounds like a good idea. And simple as well

Unfortunately it didn't come with any from the factory.

There's wood along the gunwales front to back.

Sounds good to me. I guess I'll have to see about having a shop fab some up.
