I've started gathering everything I need to replace the wood in my boat this winter to reduce the weight as much as possible. I have a bunch of aluminum angle and picked up some 1.5" x 1/16" aluminum I beam (no idea what it's from) at the scrap yard today. That takes care of all the framing but I'm having trouble sourcing aluminum sheet for the floor and storage compartments. I found rolls of aluminum roof valley at Menards that come in widths up to 24". Obviously this isn't thick enough for the floors but anybody used it to line storage compartments? Lightweight and easy to work with.

Aluminum flashing used for covering foam under seats. Way better than the steel it replaced. Once foamed in place it became solid as a brick and painted nicely.
