My biggest concern is getting a hole ripped in it. Tinking of maybe having someone design me an aluminum copy, what do you all think?

They make these in NZ

I wouldnt get an inflatable made from PVC. Hypalon is way more durable and easy to patch. Also much more expensive. You will get a hole, you will have to patch...just the nature of inflatable boats. I think polyurethane may be an emerging material but even more expensive than hypalon.

Wasmade aware of this brand a few months back via another thread, maybe even you introduced it to me, but shipping from NZ would be costly, I may ask a builder here to knock one off though.

That's NZ$. About 21K US$ https://www.blackdogcat.co.nz/extra-features Here's another NZ manufacturer. None of these boats is exactly cheap.....
Yeah, if I can't get someone to fabricae one for me or mod one from another hull type I'll be out of the running. I can buy a complete setup with eng. and trailor for 20K. here in the states. Thanks for the links.

Check out this site for the DN16RS package. Back in September I bought a DN16 side console from them with a 30 hp Evinrude. I fish in the North Jersey rivers and Rarity Bay with it. Its tough enough for this area.....Wont cost you nearly as much as that strange looking beast.

He's talking about a cat. I have a f/g one and they are fantastic for stability and rough water. Also two guys can stand and flyfish comfortably in a 14 footer. I'd buy a tin cat in a heartbeat but they don't play well with a jet(I assume because the wake from the hulls causes dirty water at the pump.)

Looks like it bounces around a lot, all of their pictures show the boat airborne. :)

I love your set up, if I wentin that direction I'd most likely buy used until I learn the river and it's pitfalls. Also see how much I'll like river running, as I'm very much use to the salt. Even thinking about keeping my existing boat 18' w 115 pwr for the river going towards the mouth, but I'd need a better tow car.

If I can find or have one made (alum) I thinnk I'll go that route depending on $'s I'll use a prop most likely as I think my river is a lot of mud.

Well if your running in the ocean at 40 + MPH in a boat that comes in under 1,000 lbs I'd expect it to fly around, that's half the fun. On a river it would be more stable and run the flat water without a problem (I think)
