personally, I would use a soft flexible product that will
give and take with the movement of the metal it is applied to.
JB Weld is a very hard epoxy that holds well in a lot of circumstances.
you can try whatever method you are comfortable with and if that fails, try something else.
I have applied 3M-5200 outside the hull over SteelFlex and it is still holding
well after one year. (avoid any product that contains silicone).
the success in anything is preparation: ensure all contaminants have been removed
from around the area of application.
keep in mind that "epoxy" is a two part product and must be mixed exactly as per the instructions.
