Fellas,
I just bought a 82 16' BassTracker flat bottom boat. I was wondering how is the stability of it when you are standing up in it? My last little aluminum boat was a 12'er V hull. And trying to stand in that boat was sketchy.
Just wondering what i'm in for.
Thanks for you time!

The other element of stability at rest is mass - the 16 will be twice as heavy, and thus less "tiddly."

Standing on a casting deck will feel less stable. The higher up you are, the more you can feel the rocking accelerations.

Obviously stay back from the gunnels a bit.

The lower the center of gravity, the more stable it will be overall.

Flat bottom will be more stable than the v in the same water conditions. How wide is it?

Just measured it and it's 68" wide.
This boat should probably weigh twice as much as my little 12'er I had.

Measure across the bottom of the hull, the top means nothing when it comes to stability.
Even at 48" across the bottom, it will be a lot more stable than a 12' V hull.
