Painting chrome plated brass

I bought a couple of chrome plated brass locker vents made by Perko, and plan on drilling a 1" hole in the floor of my Weldbilt, and riveting them down on top to act as drains. I thought these were made of stainless, until reading the fine print after the purchase.

Anyway, will etching primer stick to chrome? If not will it stick to brass? I may have to return these and find something aluminum or stainless. Here's a pic of the "drain".

Clean them with denatured alcohol and maybe sand with a very fine grit sandpaper and the paint should stick just fine
