How well do those plastic flip out cup holders hold up? I am thinking about adding a couple on the front of the bench on my bass tracker. The only cup holder I have now is on the console. There really isn't any other place for one. I have always questioned buying them because they look like they could be easily broken if not careful. I have noticed a few of you have them. Curious as to how they hold up. Do they start to flip open on their own over time? Maybe I am over thinking it because they are only around $5 each. I just prefer drilling holes once and done.

if you do get some, get the ones designed FOR marine use.
not the flimsy plastic ones designed for the Socker Moms Mini-Van.
if you buy a $3 holder - you will get a $3 holder.

how long will anything last depends on how it is used, exposure to UV,
someone loosing their balance and using the holder for a grip,
kids - dogs - drunks - all play a role in the longivity of just about everything made of plastic.

Scotty makes a decent one. Can fit in a Scotty mount but also has a little slide on fitting you can screw anywhere.

I agree with the Scotty recommendation. A couple are being included in my rebuild.

I broke a few of the folding versions from West Marine years ago, and switched to a big base travel mug in the boat. That thing rarely spilled, and the entire floor was a cup holder

I added simple brackets to a couple of these:

They work great.. for holding cell phone.. pliers...coffee cup.. you can slide it where you want it. brackets lock over the rail.. very stable..

Shaugh, I like your idea. They will be movable. I will look into that. Thanks.

$16.95 from the maker, check Amazon for others for $10.

These clamp on a vertical or horizontal pole - I use one on each seat post - and it will hold up to a one liter bottle. They make specific holders for various motorcycle brands. I used one of mine on an old riding mower and it never shook loose, even when cutting an old pasture.

I've been looking at the Tacklewebs products. I really like their cup holders. Can't really break and don't need to drill any holes. See at tacklewebs.com.

Or, Get one of these. Don't have to drill any holes in the boat. :D
