Hi,

I have a number of plywood boat lockers to which I would like to add locking slam latches to the doors so that I can secure my equipment.

These are lockers accessed from the floor of my front casting deck.

I purchased these ones:

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0186YDCRY/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o05_s01?ie=UTF8&psc=1

only to find out it only works for doors 075" - 0.275" (2 - 7 mm) thick and mine are made out of 3/4 marine plywood.

I can't seem to find something similar for 3/4 plywood doors.

Any suggestions or best ways to secure the doors.

Thanks

Alex

is this what you have ?

Personally, if I kept expensive equipment in a boat
overnight or over weekends, I would not use a plastic latch.
the ones I have are in 1/2" plywood and are adjustable to 3/4"
and are all stainless steel with key locks.
They came with the boat and I'm sure they cost more than $10 each.

I know you will loose money if you return them,,,, but you may loose
more than that if someone pops the latches open and gets all your stuff.
there are hundreds of medium duty stainless latches on the market.
google "boat hatch lock" and see what you can find that will suit your needs.

maybe your best option for security is to forego the slam lock design
and opt for the twist lock style which accommodates a variety of thicknesses

I have something similar to this but it is all stainless.
