Hi,

I am repairing the livewell on my boat. Some of the parts were beyond repair and I'm trying to source them.

The water enters the livewell via an Attwood 3877-3 https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0000AZ5VK/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o04_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1.

That's working fine the issue is that I can't seem to find anything that will screw on to the Attwood thread so I can attach a spray bar.

I called Atwood and the thread is a 7/8 - 9 UNC -2A. I have tried a few stores looking for anything that would thread on it so I could transition to a PVC connection without any luck.

Any idea if this is a common thread? It's not a garden hose thread or a standard plumbing thread.

Thanks for the help,

have you measured the Inside Diameter and compared that
to maybe CPVC or PVC tubing that you could heat and force
it into the fitting ?
last option - a piece of cloth and some epoxy and bandage it together.

see if these guys have something that will work for you or that you can modify.

Buy one of these.

Or one of these with a hose between the two

Great idea.

Inside diameter was 1/2" so I tried a 1/2" PVC pipe but the outside diameter is actually 5/8" so it was too large.

I could try a 1/4" PVC pipe but with a 1/8" wall that would only give me 3/8" and I would still be 1/8" too small for the opening.

So it looks like my option is probably a 1/2" outside diameter PVC pipe.

I have 1/2" CPVC for my spray rail but I forgot how I got it to fit.
(it will be a couple of weeks before I can check it).
here are the measurements for the outside of the pipe:
1/2" CPVC = 0.62" or 5/8"
3/4" CPVC = 0.87" or 7/8"
1/2" PVC = 0.84" or 27/32"

if you can find a piece of 1/2" CPVC pipe, gently heat the end
and roll it between two pieces of lumber to decrease the diameter.
roll it back and forth until it cools. (I just tried that method and it only
decreases the diameter about a 1/16". so you may have to be more aggressive
in filing down the pipe and reaming out the fitting until something fits).
or - go to another style of fitting.

another idea: if you take a saw, like a coping saw or hacksaw and cut a cross
into the end of the pipe maybe an inch or so it should squeeze together enough to
slide into the fitting . . . some PVC glue would hold it all together. (????)
