Hello, can anyone give advise or point me in the right direction for building a small deck on the bow. I just want a small deck with storage for the life jackets/battery and that's it.Must be sturdy enough to at least stand on but not used for casting.
Should I use wood/aluminum. I'm just going to carpet it with outdoor carpet.

Welcome Aboard
if you can post some more photos from different angles of the
boat's bow section, someone could draw a diagram for you.
I would make a bow deck lid like the vintage runabouts that have
a full aluminum deck that comes back to the front seat so the
seat could be used as a step to get onto or off of the bow deck.
this would be a single sheet of .080 or .090" aluminum sheet
that is pop-riveted to the gunnels with 1-1/4 x 1/8" square tubing under
the deck lid for support. 1/2" plywood would also work well with the
same bracing underneath. you would also have to build a tray to hold
the batteries safe, secure and level.

there are literally hundreds of builds very similar to what you are wanting to do......
look through the build and mod section to get some ideas and what materials to use.

if you go with wood, do not use any pressure treated materials
that will come into direct contact with aluminum.

the difficulty will be in correlation to your skill set and tools on hand.

Ha Ha, you may not be planning on standing on it...but, sooner or later, somebody else will step on it, thinking it is there for that purpose.

Better build it strong enough to handle that type of mistake.

As rich said: i just built the platform for my boat and trolling motor up front. I built it strong enough to quickly step on if needed (sketchy though to stand on long term i believe) because on an older boat the front bow cap was snapped off from a buddy sitting on it when I wasn't looking!

Thank you for the replies.

I was thinking of using 1x1 aluminum angle. I was talking to the wife about the battery and she doesn't think we really need it as the only thing i'm running is a Helix 5. No plans for a trolling motor. And if I did get one it would be transom mount anyways.
Here are some more photos of what I have to work with. I have no way of drawing on them to kind of show what I want to make. I was thinking of making a frame around a rubber maid container and have that in there. Then make a flip up door to access it.
