Motorguide mounting plate holes all the same?
I have a new Motorguide bow mount arriving tomorrow. I had a Motorguide on the boat. Will the new one have the mounting holes located in the same place? Hoping for easy installation?! Thanks

I don't the answer, but one option when installing a second TM is to use a "transition board". It is mounted using the old holes, and the new TM is installed on the board using Stainless T nuts.

I like the idea. What would I use as a transition board? I have some star board, but not sure if t nuts would work with star board? Thanks

Common sense says they will but, common sense isn't used much these days, I had a fire extinguisher mounted in one of my boats, I went to replace it, same brand but of course they only make one model for a couple years so the new one was slightly different, and of course so are the mounting holes. :( They didn't need to be different but they were, this seems to be the norm.
