Motorguide mounting holes in the same place?

Motorguide mounting plate holes all the same?
I have a new Motorguide bow mount arriving tomorrow. I had a Motorguide on the boat. Will the new one have the mounting holes located in the same place? Hoping for easy installation?! Thanks

I don't the answer, but one option when installing a second TM is to use a "transition board". It is mounted using the old holes, and the new TM is installed on the board using Stainless T nuts.

I like the idea. What would I use as a transition board? I have some star board, but not sure if t nuts would work with star board? Thanks

Common sense says they will but, common sense isn't used much these days, I had a fire extinguisher mounted in one of my boats, I went to replace it, same brand but of course they only make one model for a couple years so the new one was slightly different, and of course so are the mounting holes.

They didn't need to be different but they were, this seems to be the norm.

Re transition board. I used 3/4 inch exterior plywood. I doubt that Starboard would work.
