From the many thread I have read the past couple of months, the Alumacraft is a well liked and respected name. A 1648 should be a very stable ride.

It is and for the price you can't beat it. It's kinda like he Jeep Wrangler of boats, they're bare bones when you get them and the sky is the limit.

If you don't care about price and you can find 1656 or something like that, he's not wrong wider is better. But at 6'0" and 210 I'm comfortable moving all over my boat.

I have the 1648 NCS flatbottom and I love it. I also compared it to the Lowe but the Alumacraft was so much better pricewise.

I really like the boat because it works so well with smaller hp motors for restricted hp lakes. I can get decent speed and on plane just fine with my 9.9 and 15 hp motors. Most other boats out on those lakes are 1436's and all look like the guys in them are about to flip out lol.

G3 1652 - you get a few extra inches wide, can't hurt. The G3 also has a raised motor platform at the nose and the Alumacraft does not.
