This boat was handed down to me and now to my son. Only thing I know for sure is that it was bought used in 1953 by my great grandfather. Does any one know what brand boat this is. I have ruled out Alumacraft even though some things did look similar. Maybe a wards sea king? Or lone star? Not sure who else made boats in the early fifties.

I tried but could not locate anything. Some of those early 1950's boats were very much "designs in process". They didn't really know how to build a boat from aluminum yet... by the mid 50's they had it pretty well figured out... But a lot of the features on the those early boats were used once and never used again..... Some are more like cattle troughs than boats, but yours has pretty sleek lines by comparison. The very thin gunnels and huge seat brackets are very unusual and somebody might recognize them..... Are you sure it's all aluminum ? they even sold steel boats back then.... see if a magnet sticks to it...

I have looked a hundreds of pics of small tins the past few months, and I have not seen a Sea King with a stiffening rib on the side running up toward the bow, although the Sea Kings did have a shallower draft like this one. I don't recall seeing any with that feature for that matter. I have learned that there are many discontinued brands still out there for sale.
I do like the lines though. It is a nice looking boat.
