Thought I would find opinions with a search, but must be entering wrong information.
Is there a consensus on whether to seal/varnish the support wood under a new floor? 2/4's, etc. Have already done one section, but after pondering, I don't think it is needed.
Maybe just the very bottom pieces that contacts the hull?

It will be stored under roof and covered and I do not fish in the rain.

I would definitely do it. Even if just a coat of poly. The problem is that when it does get wet it will hold the moisture. If your floor is removable, you could prop it open after every trip and make sure it is dry or can dry out. But if it is permanently screwed down then you want peace of mind.

Remember that most fishermen don't fish in the rain but all fisherman haved been rained on!

I hear ya'. An unexpected storm is always possible. I should have mentioned the entire floor and supports will be easily removable, if I have to pull and dry in the sun.
Then spend your time elsewhere! [emoji41]
