Even though all of the boats listed are fiberglass, the idea of a race from Pensacola, all of the way around Florida... and up to Georgia should hold some interest for we small boat owners. Going on as I write this. Only a day or two left. rich

WOW - 1,600 miles in 2 1/2 days. Considering there must be several fuel stops, they have to be averaging some remarkable speeds.

Rich, when I open your link it looks like team "Saltwater Sportsman" is heading up I-95 north of Jackson. I wonder if they had a breakdown and had to pull out of the race.

Ha Ha...Saltwater Sportsman is the web site/magazine that sponsors the race. I imagine that they have a van running up the highway so they can cover the race. The may have their boat being towed, too.

I noticed that S.S. was always ahead of the other skiffs. I'll bet they are not running a Microskiff.

All four contestants were still alive when I checked a few hours ago. Hell'sBay; Chittum; Yellowfin; and the Panga.
