Rod/anchor hatches; and any other places that use Gas Struts.

Apparently, the big heavy part should be on the TOP. Duhhh I didn't know that but it is true.

I just installed these on rod lockers and forward aft storage bin(battery compartment) so, I will have to turn them around!

I have a freind from Oz (Austrailia). He said they have trucks that come to you and recharge them. They put in a seal if they leak oil and only replace if shaft is scored. There is no weight specific shocks. You buy a shock and they pump it up to a pressure that holds the weight. The fill fitting goes around the shaft and forces the gas pressure right past the seal. Quick and easy. He laughs at us Americans and quite often for good reason.
