Thinking of using this laquer paint on my 2006 Tracker Pro Guide.

It is a three step process....

1. Primer
2. Base color
3. Clear coat

Sounds like it is pretty durable. Not looking for a show car finish, just a nice very durable finish.

Thoughts?

Lacquer is kinda brittle paint.

I would go with rustolem marine enamel or similar. i think you can add hardener to it.

Hiya Tinman. That Tracker Pro Guide looked pretty darn good in the pic's you posted. I know you said it had some scrapes and bruises, but they sure don't stand out in the photos.

Hull at bow area is very, very scratched with a few dings and dents.
Sides are also scratched with a few dings and dents as well, but bottom of hull is worst...many, many, many scratches!

No leaks....but it's the aesthetics are bothering me! Never had a boat with a hull this badly scratched and dinged/dented.
Especially coming from a new Gregor 17 CC that I recently sold.

NOTE: sorry about some of the photos appearing sideways....on my computer they are correctly displayed

Thoughts?

Man oh man, I'm not the one to give any advice about painting. A lot of folks here use the paint CedarRiver recommended.

Suggest you go to the TinBoats Home page. Type "Paint" in the search bar. Scroll down till you find an article named "Primer and Paint Basics", written by TinBoat member Johnny, our resident paint guru.
