Woohooo! I'm super excited to find you guys. Finally, some folks that can probably help me ID this boat. It has no HIN. The man that gave it to my son said he believes it's an early 70's Ouachita. My son's birthday is this week. The only thing he asked for was to be able to get this boat tagged. In order to do so, I have to know the manufacturer and year so a new HIN can be issued.

I have attached photos. The length of the bottom of the boat is 11' 2".

Thanks so much for taking a look!

I don't know which state you live in, but I just had to get a HIN in Mass. I had to have a fish cop come out and inspect the boat, and then the dmv would give me an HIN number. It was a bit of a pain and run around, but there might be an option for you like that where you live if you can't identify it.

Are there any photos of the inside?

Good luck!

Thanks for replying Bridge4. I'm in AR. In order to tag this, I need to identify the make/model/year. Then Game and Fish will issue a new HIN. I will have that plate made, get the boat assessed, pay the personal property tax, and *then* I can have it tagged.

The image of the interior is not attaching for some reason, so here is a link to it on Imgur. The length from end to end is 11'11". The width is 3'6".

No idea, but I had an old, old, old Sea Nymph v-hull that had the drain plug on the bottom of the hull like that, complete with that little shield around it.

The plug head ‘handle’ was T-shaped, maybe 1-1/4” to 1-1/2” across, on a boss that had a thread that looked like a typical ‘garden hose thread’, but was larger in OD, by a good 1/8” or more.

Those boats go back to at least the 1950s ... so doubtful you’ll find much info!

You might want to research Arkansas Traveler. I have one with similar ribs on the bottom but with a vee front end. I was able to find a picture mine on the internet including the blue color

Check out the 1958 brochure page 3 and 4. There is an FD-12 that matches your dimensions. My boat looks like AN-14.

I'd call it an 1960 FD-12 Arkansas Traveler.

If you think it is newer than 1960 you might do some research as to if the ark trav company was bought out by another company. If it was me I would call it a 1960. I don't think anyone could prove you wrong.
