I am going to rework my boat trailer, which will result in some gavlvanize being cut off the trailer. Thus having open metal/galvanize after the cut. I have tried using the canned galvanized spray in the past to try to avoid rust, but the spray always fails, with rust as a result. Do you have other ideas to seal or cover cut galvanize? Thanks

I will be cutting off the bunk hangers leaving an open galvanized end.

I had a new axle built for my boat trailer by a local trailer shop. The guy used flex seal where he welded the spindles on. Said it holds up better than the galvanize spray. He does this on every trailer and claims to have no problems. Mine seems perfectly fine after a year
