I am replacing the floor and deck on my boat and redoing the carpet. As per recommendations on this forum I painted the wood with oil based paint. I am at the point of gluing down the carpet. I am just unsure of how much glue to use? I have seen videos of guys using specific notched spreaders for regular carpet glue. Should I use the same spreaders?

Any ideas?

Thanks in advance for any replies :)

Use 3M 77 Spray. Much easier to deal with than anything else.

When covering large pieces like the floor panel, I only applied glue to a small area and worked it one section at a time, rolling the carpet onto the panel. Otherwise it is difficult to place a large section of carpet straight and without wrinkles.

If you're set on Weldwood, a brush is the best applicator IMO.
